Group Puppy Class (Under 6 Months)
Puppy class focuses on building strong foundations during your puppy’s most important learning period. We cover age-appropriate skills, socialization done right, body handling, engagement, and calm behaviors, all with an emphasis on confidence, prevention, and setting puppies up for long-term success, not just quick cues.

Surviving Adolescence Class
(6 months - 2 years)
Surviving Adolescence is designed for teenage dogs navigating big emotions, big bodies, and developing independence. This class focuses on impulse control, focus, confidence, and real-life skills to help dogs and their people get through this stage with fewer frustrations and more understanding.

Reactive to Relaxed Class
Reactive to Relaxed is a behavior-focused class for dogs who struggle with reactivity toward people, dogs, or their environment. Using carefully managed setups, safety-first protocols, and gradual exposure, dogs learn to feel safer, stay regulated, and make better choices — without pressure, flooding, or punishment.

Behavioral issues are the leading cause of pet surrender (see here). Many families facing these challenges also struggle to afford training - especially behavior modification.
I offer low-cost group classes and private lessons at Northland Animal Welfare Society weekly. If cost is a barrier or you cannot make it these days, please reach out. We’ll work something out.

Private lessons are designed to meet you and your dog where you are: literally and figuratively. Training may take place in your home, your neighborhood, or in carefully chosen public environments depending on your goals and your dog’s needs. For behavior modification work, sessions are always set up to prioritize safety, success, and your dog’s comfort.
Each session focuses on behavior modification and real-life skills for in-home and everyday challenges. This may include management strategies, foundation behaviors, confidence-building exercises, incorporating alternate behaviors, and step-by-step coaching so you feel confident continuing the work between sessions. Common concerns addressed in private training include separation anxiety, fear or stress-related behaviors, reactivity, resource guarding, and other household behavior concerns.
When appropriate, neutral, well-trained dogs or volunteer "strangers" may be incorporated into sessions to support controlled setups and learning. These volunteers are used intentionally and thoughtfully - never to overwhelm or “test” your dog - and only with owner consent.
All training is based in humane, evidence-based methods rooted in positive reinforcement and behavior science. I use Applied Behavior Analysis and the Least Invasive, Minimally Aversive approach combined with years of experience in dog training to develop a plan with baby steps. The goal is not quick fixes, but sustainable behavior change that improves quality of life for both you and your dog based on your dog's history and your goals.
If you’re unsure whether private training is the right fit for your situation, I’m always happy to help you decide before booking.
